Issues

I was kindly pointed out by one of my readers that I hadn't posted in a while, so this is to try and redeem that.

Issues.  There seems to be an overload of them, and there is no cure for the issue, it doesn't matter as soon as you defeat one, another will step up like a petulant child taking his/her place among a gang.  I fear things, I fear many things to be honest.  As a teenager, I seem to make an issue out of everything, how my life is apparently unfair, how I don't get to do the things I want too, but when you watch the news, I start to notice probably like you, that I don't have it that bad... does anyone?  That answer would be yes.  People who live in extreme poverty, people who lose a limb, a person who lost family members to a tragic accident.  But every now and again you see them spark up a moment of inspiration, for example those who will be competing in the Paralympics.

An issue that has always fascinated me, is the devastation of the 9/11 attacks in New York on the World Trade Center.  It took thousands of lives, sparked a military excursion (often seen to be the beginning of World War III) Most people if that happened to them would have seen a problem, a defeat, and done nothing about it, stood and watched, but the truth is, it is our human nature that causes us to do these random acts of kindness in times of desperation.  They get up when the fight is almost over, and take the fight back to the opponent when it looks like we are ready to lose.  Issues are what bring people together, the way a nation can be shaped is by the people who stand up and say that this issue is merely another hurdle in our race for life!  Winston Churchill used a quote from Henry V (Shakespeare) "We few, We happy few, We band of brothers!"  this quote shaped the way we fought in the Second World War, and still to this day shapes our decisions.  An issue unites us.

However, their are issues that destroy the faith, that cancel out the willingness to carry on, the issues that cause fear to grow and continue to frighten those who are fickle and will believe everything you tell them.  Unfortunately, as a teenager, we have been united, we have been seen as a cancerous spot in society, yet we as a group make up the new ideologies that will shape our country for years to come.  And yet, we are still mediated as the terrors of society, the term 'hoodies' are associated with our existence.  We have been anchored in such a way that, it won't matter what we do, the ages of 15-18 are known to more than half of society as the dreadful age, the age of rebellion.  How do we unite against people who want to believe that we are all the same, we are individuals and that in itself should be a bigger issue to the news, that teenagers, will consistently find it difficult to get a job, have a life, without being constantly begrudged by our makers.

Maybe I am wrong, but this is how I feel, if you have your opinions and you want to share them either comment on this page, tweet me @prowseysweet or email me prowsey901@gmail.com
