Being that Guy

What is it about being a teen that makes us do those crazy things for girls?   I am a person who used to wear his heart on his sleeve, but it seems strange to constantly want to be loved.  Is it not enough for me just to have friends?  But then when you do find that girl who you get on well with, and you just seem to constantly laugh about stuff that with anyone else wouldn't be funny, you start to see why 'being that guy' is so important.  To them anyway.

The perception of 'being that guy' is what we all want people to believe we are, doesn't really matter whether we are it or not, but if we can get those people around us, our social peers, teachers, family, and friends, then we have already fulfilled our popularity contest... Maybe it isn't that.  Maybe it is something a lot simpler, we grow up, looking for that affection, that lust, or love, but it isn't enough just to find it, we try to create it, searching is hard sometimes, and standing out of the crowd to be 'that guy' is harder now more than ever.

Being that guy is only part of what a teenage boy looks to become.  I know I still am.
