Live Laugh Love

"Live, Laugh, Love" the order in which we fall in love.  The paths we will take to true love, eternal peace, and finally family.  Roads that we choose make our decisions a lot clearer, but we have to live on those roads, walk along them, until the next stop sign appears and asks you that next question.

A lot of us, go on a gap year, that soul searching adventure, that should help us understand our own lives. Before we can truly see the funny side to life, we must explore it, find it, hold it.  As a teenager, we often try to do this in the reverse order, find love, laugh about it, then live in it, but how do you know what love is until you have seen it on the faces of those who have lived, laughed and finally fallen in love?

Sometimes, I think we have actually lost sight of life, taken it for granted, stop actually living and started drifting hoping that we might bump into the other things on the way.  Some of us get lucky, some of us do drift into the things that we are searching for, but that doesn't mean we should stop living, surely we should strive to make it last, make it greater.

So this year remember to live first!

Regret

In every bodies life there is a moment of regret.  Movies have notoriously said that we should "Live without regret"  or have inferred to that quote in some way.

It is hard as a teenager, to know how to deal with regret, whether or not to ignore it, embrace it, move away from it.  In all seriousness I think it is important to do all three of those things.  It will take you on that journey that will help you find yourself, with out regret it will mean we won't have made a mistake, but after all I have lived through I know that is not Humanly possible.

Our mistakes will teach us by using regret as a driver, what the difference is between right and wrong,  good and evil, our moral backgrounds and foregrounds, molds the future we wish to bring to life as we grow up.  A lot of the time a teenager, like myself, will regret a lot of their mistakes, for example my first time (Yes, that's right I am not a virgin)  definitely wasn't ready for it, and still debating whether I am currently ready for it.

Sometimes regretting something can make you think twice about how you go about it the next time, whether it will be giving your friend that needed bit of truth, or protecting someone you love.  Regret shapes our past, present and future.

Issues

I was kindly pointed out by one of my readers that I hadn't posted in a while, so this is to try and redeem that.

Issues.  There seems to be an overload of them, and there is no cure for the issue, it doesn't matter as soon as you defeat one, another will step up like a petulant child taking his/her place among a gang.  I fear things, I fear many things to be honest.  As a teenager, I seem to make an issue out of everything, how my life is apparently unfair, how I don't get to do the things I want too, but when you watch the news, I start to notice probably like you, that I don't have it that bad... does anyone?  That answer would be yes.  People who live in extreme poverty, people who lose a limb, a person who lost family members to a tragic accident.  But every now and again you see them spark up a moment of inspiration, for example those who will be competing in the Paralympics.

An issue that has always fascinated me, is the devastation of the 9/11 attacks in New York on the World Trade Center.  It took thousands of lives, sparked a military excursion (often seen to be the beginning of World War III) Most people if that happened to them would have seen a problem, a defeat, and done nothing about it, stood and watched, but the truth is, it is our human nature that causes us to do these random acts of kindness in times of desperation.  They get up when the fight is almost over, and take the fight back to the opponent when it looks like we are ready to lose.  Issues are what bring people together, the way a nation can be shaped is by the people who stand up and say that this issue is merely another hurdle in our race for life!  Winston Churchill used a quote from Henry V (Shakespeare) "We few, We happy few, We band of brothers!"  this quote shaped the way we fought in the Second World War, and still to this day shapes our decisions.  An issue unites us.

However, their are issues that destroy the faith, that cancel out the willingness to carry on, the issues that cause fear to grow and continue to frighten those who are fickle and will believe everything you tell them.  Unfortunately, as a teenager, we have been united, we have been seen as a cancerous spot in society, yet we as a group make up the new ideologies that will shape our country for years to come.  And yet, we are still mediated as the terrors of society, the term 'hoodies' are associated with our existence.  We have been anchored in such a way that, it won't matter what we do, the ages of 15-18 are known to more than half of society as the dreadful age, the age of rebellion.  How do we unite against people who want to believe that we are all the same, we are individuals and that in itself should be a bigger issue to the news, that teenagers, will consistently find it difficult to get a job, have a life, without being constantly begrudged by our makers.

Maybe I am wrong, but this is how I feel, if you have your opinions and you want to share them either comment on this page, tweet me @prowseysweet or email me prowsey901@gmail.com

20 seconds of courage

Have you ever felt like you don't want to try and see what is around the corner?  I know I have.

I just watched the film 'We bought a zoo' and one of the big things were there is a moment of choice, in that choice you can choose to have 20 seconds of courage.  To me, I thought it brought a  new understanding to things,  that sort of well it is worth a shot, "why not?"

I liked the thought that if you just give yourself 20 seconds, you could surprise yourself, in that 20 seconds you could find yourself looking at the girl you have loved forever,  it all comes down to whether you fear the response.  I would say if the response isn't what you are hoping for that is the way it is meant to be.

Kind of a small post tonight, but it comes with a lot of meaning, I am gonna have to find that 20 seconds of courage the next time I see her!

Relationships

Whether it is just a friendship, or it is romantic, relationships in our teenage lives will make us or break us.  Doesn't matter how good you think you are at the relationship either.  Some people take years to find what most people think they have, but there is no such thing as a perfect relationship.

As a teen we grow up looking into celebrity interests, relationships and somehow we still believe that their relationship is perfect.  Have you not noticed the amount of divorce that celebrity couples undergo.  We condition ourselves to try and generate a so called 'perfect relationship'  when I can assure you all my Ex-Girlfriends will tell you that I was shit at them.

So stop kidding yourselves,  the only way a relationship works is if you take the time and care to work on it, everyday, every week, right up to your dying breath, even if you are the only one trying at least you tried.

Loss

So today's page is about loss,  that feeling of defeat.  As an athlete (in so many words) I have to deal with loss most of the time whilst playing in matches.  But at the end of the day it is about how we deal with that loss, whether we are able to bounce back, or do we sit in the corner and cry ourselves to sleep.  In most peoples cases, they let that loss over shadow their next opportunity.  I know at times I have, you know, for example "We can't beat them, they win every year!"  but each year is a new year, there are so many things that we could do with it, so many opportunities to win or lose, both on and off the sports field.

I dealt with a great deal of loss over the past three years, I had to learn to be able to bounce back no matter what happened.  It takes time, it is hard as a teenager, to take on the stresses of your own life, but then also trying to be the foundation your family needs to stand on.  You have to be that undefeatable, unquestionable rock that stands and takes the bullshit whilst everything else crumbles and destroys itself around you.  At times I felt that I had become distant from what I wanted to do, I needed freedom, and that is what loss creates, a dissatisfaction of life, makes you feel useless, unneeded, unwanted, abandoned.

As a teenager, we find when we are home, we much rather be in our own company, chilling, relaxing, thinking that no one around us knows what we are going through, in a way no one does.  Yet, if you just let the loss wash over you, and see the silver lining then you notice that loss is just the beginning to a rise.

Stop looking at things as if it is the end, because it is only beginning to something much better.

Monday, 16 July 2012

I just realised I hadn't wrote on my blog today.  I think it is because I didn't know what to write about, but that could be to do with the amount of boredom this bad weather has brought with it.
I mean come on it is summer, mid-July and there has been more rain then sun, it is starting to feel like Autumn already.

Summer 2012 in the UK is meant to be the biggest event of this year, this is due to the Olympics in London, Batman's epic ending, and the supposed 'November' to the end of our conclusion (which by the way I don't actually believe in, I just think that the people who wrote the calender just didn't think that their people would make it to that date.)  It has got me thinking though about what to do with myself, today, tomorrow, a month from now, a year from now, maybe even more.  I would like to be going to University, possible even attending the mighty LAMDA to study drama as part of my dream, and rise to stardom.  But in actual fact, looking beyond the near future and getting past my adolescence, it suddenly occurred to me that I don't know what I want.

A question we are constantly asked as teenagers, is what do you want to do with your life, and we always give them an answer, when in actual fact we don't actually know where we are going.  Maybe I am wrong, tell me if I am.
