"I'm gonna show you how great I am!"

In the words of Muhammad Ali "Imma show you how great I am!"

Some people believe that vanity is a sin, I think 'Yeah.  Sure, it is a sin, if it is abused and not in small amounts."  For example, there is nothing like self belief.  That thought you might actually be worth something in this world, rather than a tiny spec in the galaxy, or greater yet the universe.

See everyone wants to feel like they have a purpose, whether it is too lead, whether it is to follow, to help, fight, or even love.  I believe I am great, or I have the potential to be.  To show people that behind there small corner of society, there is a bigger world out there, it won't swallow you up, it wants you to come out, experience it, love it, live it.  The world entices you to be great, to go out there and make a difference, Muhammad Ali saw that, Martin Luther King saw that,  Winston Churchill saw and appreciated those who did it,  JFK fought for those who wanted to do it and died trying, the point I am making, is people try and limit your greatness.

As a teenager, you feel like the outcast of society, but the truth is, the older generations fear us.  They fear the potential, the power, the new generations capability to mold to the creases of society, to expand on what once stood and innovate it.  The teenage populous fears nothing but themselves,  some people believe it to be our arrogance, I see it as our power over them.  We see things differently, no matter what our predicaments.  The self belief in our hearts that shouts in our subconscious "You can do it!"  this is true power.

Why let people fear your potential, let it shine, and show them you are what they need, you are that beacon of light at the end of the tunnel.  Show the world how great you are!

Technology

Sorry to those who read my blog, I haven't been able to blog recently due to my laptop overheating and melting the keyboard.

So todays blog is about Technology.  The way it has intertwined with our lives, and has made it near impossible to live without.  With the likes of Facebook and twitter taking over our social lives the internet is one of the many things that people of the post-modern era have become entirely dependent upon.

I feel that technology has created a void, that many of today's society hide behind.  Due to technology the stupid have become the intelligent, able to change the views of thousands whereas the intelligent have become hidden, not coming forth anymore due to the amount of opinionated consumers and producers that scale the web.

I think that we have become to reliant upon the internet, meaning that some of society have lost valuable communication skills, as they have not had to necessarily had to talk face to face with a person.  Teenagers in particular have stopped going out, because it is easier to use the technology that creates synthetic realities for them to play in.

Admittedly I am being over critical about the use of technology, it has brought communities together, allowed them to communicate with each other quickly and efficiently just with the click of a mouse or the press of a button.

A difficult decision

Readers

I am faced with a decision, that essentially I have to make for myself, but could really do with some help on it.  You see, my passion is in the field of drama, however, I have found a love for my writing, the way I get to express opinions, ideals and other entities with you.  The decision comes down to what I will apply for during this year of my University application.   I am currently taking Business Studies, History, English Literature and Media Studies for my AS levels, and well, as much as I want to go out into the world as an Actor, I have started to find that writing is quickly becoming an exclusive passion that I enjoy sharing, not only with friends and families, but also the internet.  This is where the decision comes, do I decide to try and become that 15 Oscar award winning actor, or do I become that extremely successful and accomplished writer?  Better yet, after falling in love with the program Newsroom, I am also considering the possibility of becoming a journalist.

As a teenager, we are faced with decisions, that ultimately change our life forever.  Our teachers say now "the choices we make, will stay with us for the rest of our lives!"  which makes the whole process even harder, how to you decide between a passion that you have had all your life, to a talent that has come rushing between your legs, in the past year, or even choosing to let the people hear what is needed to be said.  I want to be good enough at drama to get into LAMDA or RADA, both of which are incredibly difficult to get into, and were the starting point to a number of famous actors and actresses.

Or do I go to a normal University, take up writing, possibly creative, or study journalism and set my sights on moving to the USA and becoming an Anchorman across seas?

If any of my readers actually read this one, I could do with a strong opinion on what I should do, tweet me on @prowseysweet, Email me proswey901@gmail.com or just leave a comment in the comment section below!
